About María Fernanda Espinosa
María Fernanda Espinosa is a distinguished scholar, diplomat, poet, and political figure.
Espinosa made history as the 73rd president of the United Nations General Assembly in 2018, as the fourth woman and first ever representative from Latin America and the Caribbean to hold this position.
With over thirty years of experience in international negotiations, security, defence, and peacebuilding, Espinosa has firmly established herself as a respected global leader.
